Here's a good sales strategy as you try to get a more solid footing, especially during this spring and summer.

Mike Stainifer at ICI, a company that makes nerf bars, bed rails, pillar trim and other aftermarket products, offers some sales strategies for retailers as well as to peer aftermarket suppliers.

To restylers he says: "Don’t stop marketing! Be creative on how you reach your target customers. Advertising is said to be the pulse of the economy — when sales drop, marketing is the first to go. Instead of pulling your marketing, look for new ways to reach your customers. Pay close attention to your marketing efforts and to your ROI only. Increase your advertising budget on the avenues that are producing.

For fellow suppliers to attract restylers to their products over that of competitors: "The same thing [as above] applies to suppliers, but the [marketing] vehicle is slightly different. Yet, in addition to that, suppliers need to look at keeping up with new trends and making sure the product is available for the jobbers and retailers."

Mike is correct. Marketing must continue during times that sales are dropping. Retro USA has a great new sales tool for restylers. The Easy Profit Plan offers restylers the ability to sell online with a simple click through program. The browser to the website, like a customer in the store, has the ability to purchase online and what was a discount that earned the restyler profit is now a commission paid to the restyler. There is no cost, no big buy-in, no purchase orders, no invoices and not cost to collecting payment. Call Retro USA at 877-473-8768 for more info.
