Aftermarket seminar set for new industry pros

Aftermarket 101, the University of the Aftermarket’s day-and-a-half introduction to the motor vehicle replacement parts and service industry, is scheduled April 26-27 at Federal-Mogul Corp.’s headquarters facility in Southfield, Mich.

This seminar is designed as a learning opportunity for any professional who is relatively new to the aftermarket or whose increased responsibilities require a greater understanding of the industry’s structure, business trends and key competitive issues.

Session topics include “Industry Basics & Structure,” “History of the Aftermarket,” “State of the Industry,” “Channels of Distribution” and “The Global Aftermarket.” The program also will feature a panel discussion among vehicle repair technicians and a tour of a local warehouse distribution operation. The seminar features speakers representing the manufacturing, distribution and association sectors.

Registration for this high-demand seminar is open through the “Course Calendar” link at www.universityoftheafter market.com or by calling 800.551.2882.

“This seminar is one of the most popular programs we offer and usually sells out quickly,” said University of the Aftermarket Director Brian Cruickshank, MAAP. “It offers the most concentrated, comprehensive study of the industry and it enables participants to hit the ground running when they get back to their jobs.”

Participants in Aftermarket 101 will earn a 1.0 continuing education unit that can be applied toward their Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP) and Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional (MAAP) designations.
