This 2010 Ford Fusion Sport, designed by the Aaron Vaccar Signature Series, is not your average booth vehicle for the SEMA Show. It represents a shift in modern vehicles available for customization and it represents new trends in the industry.
Ford selected automotive designer Aaron Vaccar of ACV Motorsports, Youngstown, Ohio, to develop a demo vehicle to display the abilities of the next-generation Ford Fusion, in this case the Sport model. Vaccar understands the youth market, but wanted more than just a chance to organize another “cool project car”; he wanted something marketable.
Companies like Turbo XS, Gaithersburg, Md., jumped on board to develop some of the upgrades: air intake system, sport cat-back exhaust and intercooled turbo kit.
S&L Customs of Cleveland addressed the custom stereo area, so consumers needn’t sacrifice a whole trunk just for a wild enclosure and cool looks: S&L designed a custom trunk that will house a custom Air Lift air suspension kit, a load of MB Quart mobile audio goodies, as well as a full-size custom 20" spare, all hidden behind push-fit panels — the car still has a full trunk.
Additional companies involved with this project include: AGP Turbo, Autometer, BASF, Canfield Customs, The Club, Deatschwerks, Ksport, NTB, Nutek Wheels, Portage Trim, S&L Customs and Stinger
